Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will return as co-hosts of CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, hosting the show live from Times Square.

The Times Square ball will drop twice this Year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence. As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve 2025, the Times Square ball will drop and then rise back up and be relit in red, white and blue for a second celebration.

The patriotic touches at this year’s Times Square gathering will offer an early glimpse of what’s ahead: a second ball drop event on July 3.
