The battle for the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday night, the NFL announced.
As the Seahawks take on the Panthers in Week 17, Rashid Shaheed was forced back to the locker room with a possible concussion.
The Seattle Seahawks standings in the NFL playoff picture is starting to take shape as the franchise looks to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Seattle faces two challenging tests against the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers to close the regular season.
According to Seahawks PR, Seattle now has 19 wins in the last 24 games, ranking first in the NFL. This is already the highest-scoring team in franchise history (470 points) and they can push that record even further in Week 18.
Seattle allowed just 139 total yards and forced two turnovers in a dominant defensive display. The Seahawks' 13th win of the season ties a franchise record -- their two previous seasons with as many victories resulted in Super Bowl appearances. As in previous weeks, Seattle didn't hold back from trolling its opponent after a win.
Indeed, after a first quarter devoid of big plays and thus nearly points-free, a second quarter out there that combined the worst parts of 2000s 10 a.m. games and Pete Carroll cardiacball, the third quarter arrived just in time to restore balance to the force of nature we call the Seahawks.
The Panthers picked up a 27-10 loss against the Seahawks on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. Next up: Panthers at the Buccaneers.
