China criticized the US for seizing oil tankers off the coast of Venezuela, signaling it stands with Caracas as its confrontation with Washington intensifies.

Since September, US forces have launched dozens of air strikes on boats that Washington alleges, without showing evidence, were transporting drugs.

For years, Russia, Iran, and China have supported Venezuela financially, politically, and militarily. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro depends strongly on these three countries for military aid.
