DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings ended a rotten three-game homestand with an ugly 5-0 loss to the league-leading Colorado Avalanche in their last appearance at Little Caesars Arena for more than a month.

The 37-year-old Red Wings forward became the NHL’s all-time leading scorer among U.S.-born players by recording his 1,375th career point against the Washington Capitals, passing Hall of Famer Mike Modano’s mark of 1,374. He entered Thursday's game tied with Modano after notching point No. 1,374 on an assist against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.
