DoorDash launched a ChatGPT grocery app one week after rival Instacart, enabling AI-powered recipe suggestions with hour-long delivery from stores.
Instacart has agreed to pay out $60 million in subscriber refunds, the Federal Trade Commission announced on Thursday. The refunds will help settle a lawsuit the FTC raised, accusing the grocery delivery app of engaging in “numerous unlawful tactics that harmed shoppers and raised the cost of grocery shopping for Americans.”
Consumers can now shop from more than 1,800 retailers directly within ChatGPT via a fully integrated Instacart app commerce experience.
The Instacart ChatGPT app experience with Instant Checkout will automate the creation of a shopping list based on the needs for a recipe, for example, and enable users to approve the AI-generated list and pay for it all within the ChatGPT platform.
