Kiko has entered the Central Pacific basin as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph, according to the latest forecast. The system was last located about 1,005 miles ESE of Hilo and 1,205 miles ESE of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Hawaii turns watchful eye to Hurricane Kiko as storm returns to Category 4 strength
While the islands are in the five-day forecast cone, meteorologists said that Kiko will be a completely different storm by the time it approaches Hawaii early next week.
The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Kiko is now a Category 4 storm in the Pacific. Forecasters say Kiko's top sustained winds were clocked at 145 mph on Wednesday.
