Trump naming special envoy to Greenland angers Denmark, prompting it to call in U.S. ambassador
Denmark says it will summon the U.S. ambassador after President Trump appointed a special envoy to Greenland, the Danish autonomous territory he has often expressed interest in.
President Donald Trump declared in a Truth Social post that he is tapping Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry to serve as U.S. special envoy to Greenland.
The president said Greenland is important for national security reasons, and called Landry a “dealmaker-type guy.”
