It'll be a colossal six-pointer in the Premier League title race to close out 2025 on Tuesday, when leaders Arsenal host 3rd-place (and surging) Aston Villa in north London.
It's first place vs. third place, as the Villains stunned the Gunners with a last-second winner in the recent reverse fixture.
The Villans come in on the back of a club record 11 consecutive wins in all competitions, leaving a trail of fallen teams including Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, who they defeated 2-1 at Villa Park in the reverse fixture earlier in December thanks to a dramatic late goal from Emiliano Buendía.
Arsenal have lost three of their last five Premier League matches against Aston Villa (W1 D1) and could see Villa complete a league double over them for the third time in six seasons (also 2020-21 and 2023-24), something they’d done so just once previously in the competition beforehand, in 1992-93.

From ‘lazy’ to title challengers: Aston Villa is the big surprise in the Premier League this season
Aston Villa started the Premier League season with a five-match winless run and looked more like a potential relegation candidate than a title contender.
Arsenal come into this game on the back of a nervy 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, which saw them retain their two-point lead over City at the top of the table. Villa, meanwhile, needed a brace from substitute Ollie Watkins, to notch up a comeback 2-1 win away to Chelsea, thus extending their winning run to 11 games.
