Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the rear tray. Pull out the paper output tray and the output tray extension. Hold down the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes orange four times, then release it immediately. The print head alignment sheet will be printed. Do not touch any printed part on the print head alignment sheet.
Print head alignment corrects the installation positions of the print head and improves deviated colors and lines. This machine supports two head alignment methods: automatic head alignment and manual head alignment. Normally, the machine is set for automatic head alignment.
To enable or disable the color calibration adjustment values, select Enable/disable adjustment values on the Color calibration screen. To clear color calibration adjustment values, select Reset adjustment values in the Color calibration screen.
You can specify the color correction function of the printer driver to print sRGB data with color tints that most people prefer through the use of Canon Digital Photo Color.
To print and check the current head position adjustment values, press the Setup button and then press the + button until "7" appears on the LCD, and press the Black button or the Color button.

In each entry field, enter the number of the pattern with the least prominent streaks or stripes from among the printed patterns. You can also enter numbers into the entry fields automatically by clicking relevant pattern in the preview. After completing the entries, click OK.
Scanned photos may contain white dots caused by dust or scratches. Use this function to reduce such noise. Dust and scratches will not be reduced. Select this to reduce small dust particles and scratches. Large ones may remain. It is recommended that you normally select this setting.
